I'm Glenn. I'm 21. I live in Melbourne. I study media.
I like all the right things.
After the Doctor Who Christmas special, I’ve finally worked out why my love for the show has been waning.
For every episode since ‘Night Terrors’, the solution to the episode’s problem, or the way to defeat the enemy, has involved some sort need for a character to realise a certain emotion (in ‘Night Terrors’, the boy needed to realise that his parents still love him, in ‘The God Complex’, Amy has to lose her faith in the Doctor, in ‘The Girl Who Waited’, the Old Amy has to remember Rory’s love for her, in ‘Closing Time’, Craig has to use his fatherly love to reverse his Cyberman conversion, in ‘The Wedding of River Song’, the Doctor has to kiss River in order to save the Universe, and in ‘The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe’, Madge has to remember home and her husband). It’s all just become too touchy-feely. Even in ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’, River had to quickly fall for the Doctor and give up a few regenerations for him.
I miss the days when the Doctor just came up with a brilliant idea just in the nick of time, whether it be creating some sort of contraption, breaking something or just tricking the aliens away.

There’s also Amelia and Nephew, but still no Rory!
(Or River, or any new Amy variation, so there’s hope yet).
